曾赢得奥斯卡的Steven Zaillian继HBO迷你剧《罪夜之谜 The Night Of》后再一次负责剧集项目，他执笔兼导演的剧集是Showtime 8集剧《天才瑞普利 Ripley》，即是Patricia Highsmith笔下的著名反社会人物。Steven Zaillian会负责首季大部份集的编剧及导演工作，该剧会采用《The Talented Mrs. Ripley》﹑《Ripley Under Ground》﹑《Ripley’s Game》﹑《The Boy Who Followed Ripley》﹑《Ripley Underwater》五部小说的内容，讲述Tom Ripley如何由一名骗徒成为连环杀手的心路历程。剧集版背景为60年代的纽约，Tom Ripley（Andrew Scott饰）被一个富豪招募，让他到意大利说服富豪的浪子回家。然而这次旅程成为了Tom Ripley走进各种欺骗﹑欺诈及谋杀的第一步。Tom Ripley这角色最出名是改编电影《天才瑞普利 The Talented Mr. Ripley》中的形象，当时由Matt Damon饰演此角。

Inspired by one of the co-creators’ experiences with sight loss, viewers join Tess and Sunny as they bring a fresh perspective to solving crime.
